The
Indonesians have taken a real liking to Reverb Nation. I don't know
why. All I know is that it's great because I can stream the albums
right from the site instead of having to download them. Without
further ado, here is Flesh Autopsy's Promo CD 2012, which contains
just two songs, “Impresifatalis” and “Aggression Hecatomb of
Pastor”.
Unlike
most other Indonesian brutal death metal bands, the production on
this promo is pretty high quality. All the instruments can be heard
well and the guitars don't have this muddy texture. Not only is the
production pristine, but so is their musicianship. The drums
specialize in fast, mechanized blast beats like many bands in the
technical death metal genre, and they make sure to throw in lots of
fills to keep the music from getting tedious. The vocals aren't as
deep as other brutal death metal bands, but they fit the frantic feel
of the music quite well.
I
think I said the same thing about Hatestroke, but I'll say it again:
there must be something in the water in Indonesia, because the
guitars here are absolutely killer. It's a perfect fusion of melody,
brutality, and technical mastery. I swear, some of the licks remind
me of Necrophagist and Spawn of Possession. I also hear some
similarities to their compatriots, Orestes. The solos noodle with
beauty and grace, and I think there might be some Swedish influence
there as well. They're also from Bandung, the citadel of slam, so
they make sure to honor their city by including a few sick slams in
between the torrents of technical shredding.
My
only problem is that this CD is too short. Then again, this is a
promo, so that's to be expected. Other than that, this is an amazing
display of Indonesian death metal supremacy. I hope they release a
full-length soon.
